PALMETTO FLORIDA Private funeral services were held for Ralph F. Donofrio, 83, who died Wednesday morning February 27, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice in Palmetto. He was born December 5, 1929 in Cleveland, a son of Peter and Catherine Coccaro Donofrio.
Mr. Donofrio served with the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Edward Church. Ralph was a fireman for Liberty Twp. Fire Department from 1962 to 1987 having held every rank in the department, serving as Fire Chief and retiring as Captain. He worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube Brier Hill Plant from 1948 to 1963, was a Liberty School Bus Driver from 1963 to 1990.
His wife, the former Angie M. Giampetro, whom he married May 26, 1956, died April 25, 1987.
He leaves a son, Randy Donofrio of Palmetto, FL; a brother, Thomas A. Donofrio of Youngstown; a sister, Jean Carol (Joseph) Toti of Roanoke, VA; two grandchildren, Michael of Palmetto, FL and Angela of Bradenton, FL and a great granddaughter, Ava.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial was at Belmont Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
