Biography

HUBBARD Private funeral services were held Monday for Prudence A. Matola, 88, who died Thursday evening December 22, 2011 at Northside Hospital Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1923 in Youngstown, a daughter of George A. and Prudence A. Doyle Wiscott.

Mrs. Matola was a press operator for Metal Products Co. in Niles for over 13 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and also a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in McDonald. Prudence loved playing slot machines.

Her husband, Rudolph E. Matola whom she married February 5, 1941, died in 1977.

She leaves a daughter, Sally (Albert) Ann Peters of Fowler; two sons, Anthony R. (Kathy) Matola and Rudolph M. Matola both of Hubbard; a sister, Bina R. Powers of Liberty; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Prudence Ann Matola; a son, Earl H. Matola; six brothers, William, Raymond, Phillip, Peter, George and Quinn Wiscott and a sister Phobea Wiscott; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Burial took place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
