HUBBARD Peter J. Barita, 89, of Hubbard, died Saturday evening, November 3, 2007, at Briarfield at the Ridge. He was born February 5, 1918, in Hubbard, a son of Michael and Anna Zimba Barita and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mr. Barita retired from General Fireproofing after working there 35 years and was a member of St. Patrick Church. An avid golfer and baseball player, he also enjoyed fishing and gardening and served in the U.S. Army.

He leaves his wife, the former Marie R. Ostavitz, whom he married April 25, 1940; one son Peter M. (Linda) Barita of Seabrook, TX; two daughters, Rose Mary (Jim) Capasso of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Dolores (Rickey) Cook of Hubbard; a sister, Sophie Bolchalk of Hubbard; five grandchildren, Peter Barita, Gabrielle Barita, Ted Capasso, Stefanie Cook and Richard Cook.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Frank Barita.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at the Kelley- Robb Funeral Home and at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the services.
