HUBBARD Pauline Anna Dosch, 90, of Hubbard, died on Monday morning, May 26, 2008, at her residence. She was born on July 14, 1917, in Ford City, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Morovsky Valasek and lived in Hubbard for 52 years.
Mrs. Dosch, a homemaker, worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass during World War II and was a 1935 graduate of Ford City High School. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard, serving in Lay Ministries as a communion distributor and a reader. She was a member and past president of the Altar & Rosary Society and a former member of Parish Council. She was an active volunteer involved with the church's fish fries, the annual festival and served on the National Council of Catholic Women. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Hubbard Historical Society and Hubbard Cares and a former member of the Hubbard Fire Department Auxiliary. Pauline won many awards for quilting, needle work and rug hooking.
Her husband, Ray McKelvey Dosch, whom she married on September 9, 1942, died on March 21, 1990.
She leaves three daughters, Kathleen A. Zappin of Columbus, OH, Sarah Rae "Wink" Ahren of Hubbard and Mary Margaret "Mugget" (Richard) Buchenic of Hubbard; nine grandchildren, Daniel Zappin, John Zappin, Michael Ahren, Christopher Ahren, Alexandra Ahren, Erik Szelest, John Buchenic, Chrystin Beebe and Rebecca Buchenic and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jack, Max, Kennedy and Lyla.
Besides her husband, preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter, Sheryl Denise "Dennie" Dosch and six brothers, Joseph, John, Steve, Louie, Gus and Teddy and four sisters, Agnes, Margaret, Millie and Tootsie.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 12:30 p.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
