HUBBARD Paul F. Washington, 88, of Hubbard, died Sunday morning, August 29, 2004 at his residence. He was born November 17, 1915 in Hubbard, a son of John and May Lloyd Washington and was a life long Hubbard resident.
Mr. Washington was a salesman for several area automobile dealerships and prior to this was an insurance agent, worked for the B & O Railroad and Powell Pressed Steel. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, a former member of St. Patrick Church and the Knights of Columbus. Paul was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 3767 of Hubbard and enjoyed golf and model trains.
His first wife, the former Sally Weir, died in 1981 and his second wife, Bonnie Ritenour Smelko, died in 2000.
He leaves a daughter, Marilyn Thomas of Hubbard; two stepsons, Robert (Eileen) Smelko of Enon, OH and David (Darlene) Smelko of Hubbard; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Martin, Jack and Lloyd Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
