HUBBARD Paul L. Rucek, 76 of Hubbard died Saturday morning, April 10, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 2, 1927, in Johnstown, PA, a son of Andrew and Minnie Krokva Rucek and has lived in Hubbard since 1959.

Mr. Rucek was employed by the Hubbard Public Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1985 as a guidance counselor. Prior to this he worked for Isaly Dairy and General Fireproofing Co.

He was a very active member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, Hubbard and a 40 year member of the Gideons International of Mercer County where he was the treasurer for many years. Paul graduated from Youngstown University in 1958 and Westminster College in 1964. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1947 and the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954.

He leaves his wife, the former Ruth Kulhavy, whom he married June 17, 1950; a daughter, Sheryl Guess of Hubbard; a sister, Ann Cerbus of Hubbard.

His parents, two brothers, Albert Rucek, who was killed in World War II and John Rucek, are deceased.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, Hubbard.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Wednesday, 5 to 8 PM and at church on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, PA.
