HUBBARD Patrick J. "Sarge" McDowell, Jr., 57, died Monday morning, November 2, 2009 at Northside Hospital Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1952 in New Castle, PA a son of Patrick J. and Geraldine Via McDowell, Sr. and has lived in Hubbard since 1977.

Mr. McDowell was a guard for TCI Prison retiring in 2008 and also served with the United States Air Force Reserves retiring after 20 years of service in 1991. Sarge was a member of St. Patrick Church, the Kiwanis club of Hubbard, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hubbard Post No. 3767 and the Amvets of Vienna. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, camping and model cars.

He leaves his wife, the former Debra L. Groboski, whom he married October 8, 1977; a son, Patrick J. (his fiancé, Lindsey Zagorski) McDowell III of Hubbard; two daughters, Tracy L. (her fiancé, Robert Ruby) McDowell and Lisa M. McDowell both of Hubbard; two grandchildren, Patrick J. McDowell IV and Briley Ruby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
