HUBBARD Patricia Devine, 59, died Tuesday morning April 3, 2012 at Hospice House. She was born March 20, 1953 in Youngstown, a daughter of James P. and Patricia A. Hurley Devine and was a lifelong area resident.
Patty was a member of St. Patrick Church and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1971. She was the Treasurer and Meat Manager at Devine's Shop and Save for 35 years, retiring in 2000 and was also a licensed hypnotherapist.
Following her retirement she graduated with honors from Penn State University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree with a major in Business in 2004 and then pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She was the recipient of several scholarships between 2001 and 2003. Patty graduated from the Jameson School of Nursing with honors in 2008 and worked at Needles Hospital in Needles, CA for one year. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Deans List and was loved and admired by all who worked with her at Penn State, having been a work study student while earning her degree.
Patty leaves three brothers, James P. Devine, Jr., Dennis E. Devine and Edward F. (Diane) Devine all of Hubbard; four sisters, Peggy Devine, Mary Jo (Walt) Devine Shinosky, Nancy Devine and Betsy Devine all of Hubbard; nephews, Sean F. and Patrick G. McCloskey, Brendan J. and Colin P. Shinosky and James P. Devine III; nieces, Kerry Devine and her daughter Marley, Catie Devine, and Alexis Lawson and her daughter, Jadia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
There are no funeral services.
