HUBBARD O. Joann Roman, 78, died Wednesday evening August 27, 2014 at Sharon Regional Hospital. She was born August 30, 1935 in Masury, a daughter of Robert and Florence Warren Cunningham and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Roman was a receptionist for Dr. Chiasson for 13 years and previously worked for Federal Wholesale on the ticket line for 12 years. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School and was a member of the New Life Christian Fellowship Church. Joann loved to shop and play cards, especially solitaire and euchre. She enjoyed collecting many items which include spoons, license plates, tea sets and beanie babies.

Her husband, Nick Roman, whom she married October 2, 1976, died June 3, 2008.

She leaves three sons, Thomas Karpinski Jr. (Yvonne Stillings) of Hubbard, Ronald Karpinski of Youngstown and Richard (Nanette) Karpinski of Youngstown; two daughters, Karen (Bill) Karpinski DeMoss of Hubbard and Sharon Pedaline (Tim Donahue) of Hubbard; a nephew, Alvin McClung whom she helped raise; a brother, Ernie (Kay) Cunningham of Hubbard; a sister-in-law- Jackie Cunningham of Hermitage; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, Robert and David Cunningham and two sisters, Isabel McClung and Louise Scutillo.

There are no calling hours or services.

Joann's final resting place will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
