IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norma E.
(Gregory) Mcknight
January 24, 1932 – December 8, 2016
HUBBARD A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church for Norma Elaine McKnight, 84, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born in Warren to Thomas and Anna (Stroney) Gregory on Jan. 24, 1932, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a devout member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard. She worked as a secretary at Cardinal Mooney High School and Republic Steel Corporation as a teletype operator. After earning her Associate¹s Degree in Word Processing from ITT, she worked and retired from the Ohio Industrial Commission in 1998. Following her retirement, she spent her time with her grandchildren, teaching them some of her many talents. She was well-known for her impeccable cooking and baking and enjoyed hosting loved ones for dinner and family stories. Her countless guests never left hungry or at least without some goodies. Beyond her talents in the kitchen, she was an avid sewer, singer and storyteller, while never failing to provide endless entertainment.
She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories, her three beloved children, Ronald McKnight, Diane James and Carolyn Frost, all of Hubbard; her cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Jenifer and Ron Sample, Anna and Charlotte James and Michael and Kelli Frost; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, D.J., Samantha, Lily and Maxwell Sample; and her brother and sister, Thomas Gregory of Youngstown and Dorothy Hadfield of Tomball, Texas; Toni Soles-Cooper, as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous friends that she dearly loved. A true matriarch, she will be sadly missed by all of her family and all who knew her.
In addition to her loving parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McKnight, whom she married Oct. 24, 1953; her two sons, Kenneth and Michael McKnight; and her two sisters, Marian Burkey and Pauline Ziegler.
Friends and family will be received at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, and on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, one hour prior to the funeral services, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
