HUBBARD Myron Tomo, 83, of Hubbard, died Sunday morning, September 7, 2008, at Liberty Health Care Center. He was born on February 14, 1925, in Youngstown, a son of Paul and Susan Kolesar Tomo and lived in Hubbard since 1947.
Mr. Tomo worked at U.S. Steel, Ohio Works, for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He served in the U. S. Army with the 249th Combat Engineers during World War II, receiving four Bronze Stars, and was a charter member of the VFW Post 4237 in Youngstown. Myron was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Youngstown and enjoyed mechanics, woodworking, and gardening. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan
His wife, the former Marion L. Blasko, whom he married on October 4, 1947, died on February 5, 1989.
He leaves three sons, Paul M. Tomo of Brookfield, William Tomo and John (Stephanie) Tomo, both of Hubbard; a daughter, Mary Ann (Joe) Skala of Hubbard; a sister Susan Snyder of Canfield and two granddaughters, Carrie Ann and Mariah.
Besides his wife, preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Robert Tomo and brothers, Paul, John and Reverend Andrew Tomo.
Private funeral services were held Wednesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home with the Rev. D. Gary Schreckengost officiating.
