MISHAWAKA, IN Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 At the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, Hubbard, OH for Mrs. Muriel M. Schotten, 78 of 530 Tanglewood Lane, formerly of Bedford Rd., Hubbard who died Thursday evening at St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka, IN.
She was born April 4, 1922 in Kilkeel County Down, Northern Ireland, a daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Edgar Campbell and came to the United States settling in Hubbard in 1947. She lived here until 1990 when she moved to Mentor, OH and then moved to Mishawaka, IN in 1995.
Mrs. Schotten worked for the Hubbard Public School System in the cafeteria for 15 years, retiring in 1983. Prior to this she and her husband owned and operated Pat's Pizza Shop, Hubbard during the 1960's. She was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of God and the church choir. She was a former member of the Hubbard Garden Club, the British Wives Club, the Women's Republican Club and Sons and Daughters of Ohio River. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Her husband, George W. Schotten whom she married November 25, 1947, died September 26, 1987. She leaves two sons, Wesley Schotten of El Paso, TX and Charles Schotten of Livonia, MI; two daughters, Carole Hudy of Greenville, SC and Colleen Cretella of South Bend, IN; two brothers, Jim and Wesley Campbell, both of County Down, Northern Ireland; a sister, Calvy Holmes of County Down, Northern Ireland; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Friends may call Sunday 2 to 5 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard, OH 44425, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
