HUBBARD Melvin Hoare, 85, and his wife S. Catherine Hoare 82, of Hubbard, died Monday, May 19, 2003 of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Mr. Hoare was born February 8, 1918, in Emeigh, PA, a son of William and Ellen Nesbitt Hoare. Mrs. Hoare was born May 9, 1921, in Patton, PA, a daughter of Ernest and Mary Watters Cramer. They were married March 2, 1946 and lived most of their lives in Hubbard.
He worked for Commercial Shearing and Stamping for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard, enjoyed gardening and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.
Mrs. Hoare was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard, the Susanne Wesley Class of the church and Liberty Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed playing cards.
They leave one daughter, Mary Ellen (Arthur) Mascola of Howland and one granddaughter, Melanie Ann Mascola of Howland.
Mr. Hoare also leaves one brother, James Hoare of Lower Burrell, PA, and one sister, Jean Miller of Altoona, PA.
His parents, a grandson, Michael Mascola, one brother, William Hoare and a sister Geneva Kohl, preceded him in death.
Mrs. Hoare leaves one brother, David Cramer of Huntsville, Alabama.
Her parents, one grandson, Michael Mascola and two brothers, Arthur and Lewis Cramer preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Hoare will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
