HUBBARD Melissa L. Cunningham, 53, died Thursday December 19, 2024 at home. She was born December 7, 1971 in Youngstown, a daughter of Harry Leroy and Carol J. Carney Slayton and was a lifelong area resident.

Melissa, a 1990 graduate of Brookfield High School, received her Medical Assistant Certification through Laurel Technical Institute. She was a bar maid at Schells Club Topsy in Masury. Melissa enjoyed painting, writing, doing arts and crafts and baking. Most of all she loved her cats and grandchildren.

She leaves her fiancé, Evert Bell; a son, Andrew Cunningham of Masury; a daughter, Amber Cunningham of Masury; two sisters, Beth Ann Crispin and her husband Lonny of New Castle, PA and Pam Cummings of Concord, NC; 4 grandchildren, Ariel and Willow Cunningham and Selen and Vivian Sandstrom and one grandchild on the way; a nephew, James Witt and two nieces, Alicia Scott and Crystal Slayton.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Brittany Nichole Cunningham and a brother, Harry Slayton.

Family and friends may call on Monday December 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Byus officiating.
