Obituary

Matthew Thomas Fisher, 60, of Clermont, Florida, passed away at his home on August 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, and he exuded kindness, compassion and respect to everyone he encountered. Matt will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Matt was born on November 14, 1965 in Youngstown, Ohio, the third of four children to William Fisher Sr and Jane (Francosky) Organ, and grew up in Hubbard, Ohio. He graduated from Hubbard High School in 1984 and played the trumpet with the HHS Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pit Band, and Concert Band while serving as Band President. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He later earned his Master's Degree with Honors in Management and Leadership from Webster University in 2005.

In 1990, he met his future wife, Lori Dobos, while working together at the legendary Hubbard Pizza Works. They married in 1993, initially setting up their household in Hubbard before moving to Florida in 1999 when Matt took a job working in food service management for The Walt Disney Company. His career with WDW spanned 27 years, with countless friendships forged during his tenure with the company. He found great joy and pride in leading his team and working with his talented mentors and colleagues. Matt was a devoted Catholic and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont.

Matt was passionate about travelling with his wife and daughters. They often went on road trips and cruises, exploring new destinations and enjoying family time together. Italy was a bucket list destination for Matt, and recently he was thrilled to explore the country with Lori. He was an avid history buff, particularly interested in World War II, as well as a true crime fan. Matt loved listening to 80s music and classic rock, particularly Queen and Bruce Springsteen. He was especially fond of Christmas music and the Christmas season. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan, and his favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Lightning. More than anything, Matt doted on and adored his family, putting them above all else. He was an incredibly attentive and involved father, and his three daughters brought him immeasurable joy. Their infectious laughter, singing, and silliness filled their home with warmth and love. Every accomplishment of his talented daughters made him beam with pride. He was thrilled to become a grandfather last year and cherished his beloved grandson, Theodore, quickly becoming Theo's favorite person to snuggle with in "Grampy's recliner."

Matthew is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Lori (Dobos) Fisher; treasured daughters Emily (Barry Martina) Fisher of Davenport, Florida, Hayley Fisher and Abby Fisher, both of Clermont, Florida, and grandson, Theodore Martina. He also leaves his mother Jane (Francosky) Organ of Cortland, Ohio, brothers William (Anne) Fisher of Hubbard, Ohio, Eric (Nekoe) Fisher of Youngstown, Ohio, sister, Michelle Fisher-Miller of Sharon, Pennsylvania, his mother-in-law, Valerie Sloas, and a multitude of much-loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Fisher Sr. and stepmother, Marie Fisher, his stepfather, Richard Organ, his mother-in-law, Patricia Boyle, and his father-in-law, Randy Slane.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home, a memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM with Deacon Bob Freidman officiating.
