HUBBARD Mary Alice Pappa, 92, formerly of Hubbard, died Saturday evening, February 23, 2002, after a short illness. She was born February 1, 1910, in Hubbard, a daughter of Stephen and Susan Hudak Sperko and was a life long Hubbard resident.

Mrs. Pappa was a homemaker and had previously worked at the Central Store and Strouss-Hirshberg Department Store.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, the Jednota and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies League. Mrs. Pappa enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and working crossword puzzles.

Her husband, Vincent James Pappa, whom she married July 12, 1932, died March 20, 1988. She leaves three sons, Fred J. (Alice) Pappa of Pompano Beach, FL, Jack J. (Fran) Pappa and James V. (Linda) Pappa, both of Hubbard; one daughter, Betty Lu DiPiero of Girard; a sister Julia Sperko of Hubbard; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Four brothers, Stephen, Joseph, John and Edward Sperko and two sisters, Anna Hallapy and Susan Oshelski are deceased.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5 to 8 PM.
