HUBBARD Mary Teresa McBride, 75, died peacefully with her family at her side Sunday June 8, 2014 at Sharon Regional Health System Hospice. Her death followed a courageous 4-month struggle with esophageal cancer. She was born on February 4, 1939 in Hubbard, a daughter of Joseph and Teresa Kraus Scarpine and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mrs. McBride was a 1957 graduate of Hubbard High School and worked as a Teller for Dollar Bank in Youngstown for several years. Mary worked in the cafeteria for the Hubbard Exempted School District for 25 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting, and was an avid reader.

She leaves her husband, Hugh C. McBride Sr., whom she married on May 15, 1965; two sons, Hugh C. (Kathleen) McBride of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. and Brian T. (Linda) McBride of Ontario, CA; three grandchildren, Aodhan, Finbar, and Cedric; a brother Jim (Pat) Scarpine of Virginia Beach, VA.; Several nieces and a nephew; Several great nieces and a great nephew; Special niece and friend Pam (Chuck) Sanor and their daughter, Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Kathryn Bossong, and a brother, Joe Scarpine Jr.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kelley ~ Robb ~ Cummins Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Kelley ~ Robb ~ Cummins Funeral Home with Deacon John Bartos officiating.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
