HUBBARD Mary V. Katko, 83, died Friday morning, December 17, 2010 at her home. She was born February 10, 1927 in Youngstown a daughter of Joseph and Victoria Korzenewski Hesky and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Katko was a sweeper for the Hubbard Public Schools for 23 years before retiring in 1999. She was a 1946 graduate of East High School, a member of St. Francis Church in Youngstown until their closing, then St. Stephen's Church and most recently St. Patrick Church in Hubbard. Mary enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.

Her husband, William L. Katko, whom she married November 16, 1957, died May 17, 1981; a son, William J. (Terry) Katko of Brookfield; a brother, John Hesky of Cornersburg; a sister, Catherine (Joe) Ryser of Hubbard and two grandsons, Bill and Michael Katko.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Walter, Joe, Frank, Andrew and George Root and two sisters, Anne Smyers and Helen Root.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Monday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
