HUBBARD Mrs. Mary (Betty) E. Herubin, 85, of Hubbard, died Monday afternoon, September 23, 2002, at her home. She was born August 18, 1917, in Hubbard, a daughter of John and Mary DeBacco Angelo and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mrs. Herubin retired from Sherwin-Williams Co., Hubbard and previously worked for General Electric and was a cook at Reed School, Hubbard. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, the Sacred Heart Retreat House and the Hubbard Senior Citizens. Betty volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels and was a 1937 graduate of Hubbard High School where she was a member of the band and played baseball and basketball. She attended Youngstown College, was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.

Her husband, Major Stanley J. Herubin, U.S. Army, whom she married April 14, 1943, died July 21, 1958. She leaves a son, Stanley P. (Joanne) Herubin of Whiting, IN; two daughters, Mary Catherine (David) Wheeler of Easton, MD and Diane E. (Ron) DeJulio of Hubbard, with whom she made her home; a brother, Medio Angelo of Hubbard; two sisters, Edith Gonder and Lena Mortaro both of Hubbard; six grandchildren, Tina Woods of Valparaiso, IN, Ron DeJulio Jr., Anna DeJulio, Danielle DeJulio of Hubbard, and Daniel and Nathan Wheeler of Easton, MD; a great granddaughter, Shyanna Herubin of IN. A sister, Helen Papa and a grandson, Stanley Herubin are deceased.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard, and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Thursday, 5 to 8 PM.
