HUBBARD Mary L. Henderson, 89 of Hubbard, died Sunday morning, July 27, 2003, at Liberty Health Care Center. She was born July 7, 1914, in Cornersburg, OH, a daughter of George and Cora Follweiler Shonce and was a life long area resident.
Mrs. Henderson was a cook for the Hubbard Public Schools retiring in 1964. She was a member of Coalburg United Methodist where she served as Benevolence Treasurer, a member of the Women's Circle and a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the former Pythian Sisters and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and playing cards.
Her first husband, Walter L. Tate, whom she married in 1938 died in 1957; her second husband, Norman Henderson, whom she married in 1966, died in 1984. She leaves a son, Richard J. (Patricia) Tate of Hubbard; two grandchildren Denise Schindell of Hubbard and Gregory Tate of Akron; four great grandchildren, Brandon and Alexander Tate, both of Bowling Green KY, Macey Tate of Akron and Joshua Schindell of Hubbard.
Her parents and a sister, Mildred DeCota, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Coalburg United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Monday, 5 to 8 PM and at church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
