HUBBARD Mary Jane Cargill Harbison, 76, died Saturday morning at Northside Hospital Medical Center. She was born December 4, 1935 in Kinsman, a daughter of Walter I. and Marian Casper Bloom and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Harbison graduated from Vernon High School and was a desk clerk for the Hubbard Public Library. She was a member of the Disciples Christian Church of Boardman, formerly the First Christian Church of Youngstown. She was very active in the church singing in the choir and was a member of the Christian Woman's Fellowship.
Mary Jane was a member of the Hubbard Historical Society, the Red Hat Society and the Mahoning Garden Club. She loved to sew having made 3 wedding dresses, loved gardening and historical genealogy.
Her first husband, Thomas E. Cargill, whom she married June 26, 1954, died October 8, 1994.
She leaves her second husband, Robert S. Harbison, whom she married July 26, 1996; three sons, Christopher W. (Sherry) Cargill of Toledo, James L. (Lori) Cargill of Toledo and George A. (Sandy) Cargill of Apple Valley, CA; two daughters, Paula M. Phibbs of Austintown and DonnaJean E. Ragozzine of Girard; three brothers, Walter I. (Ann) Bloom, Jr. of New Middletown, Thomas F. Bloom of Youngstown and Paul W. Bloom of Kinsman; two sisters, Lillian G. (Raymond) Zedaker of Hubbard and Doris A. Perrine of Scranton, PA; a sister-in-law, Winnie P. Stefko of Glenshaw, PA; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard C. Bloom; a son-in-law, David P. Phibbs, Sr. and a great granddaughter, Hannah Nicole Woods.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman Canfield Rd., Boardman, OH 44512 with the Rev. Timothy Brown officiating.
Interment will be at Vernon Westview Cemetery.
