HUBBARD Martha L. Chufo, 88, of Hubbard, died on Sunday, January 6, 2008, at The Medical Center of Georgia in Augusta, GA, while visiting her son, Jon. She was born on December 20, 1919, in Youngstown, a daughter of Anthony A. and Mary E. Marciano LaCivita and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Chufo was a cashier at Patton's Super Market in Hubbard for 28 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and its Adua Society and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at Forum Health Northside Medical Center for over 22 years. Martha prayed the Rosary daily and loved her grandchildren dearly.

Her husband, John J. Chufo, whom she married on January 20, 1945, died on November 25, 2001.

She leaves two sons, James J. (Debbie) Chufo of Hubbard and Jon N. (Camille) Chufo of Aiken, SC; two brothers, James LaCivita and Charles (Shirley) LaCivita, both of Hubbard; a sister, Lucille (Mike) Nicora of Hubbard; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Susanna Sorice.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
