HUBBARD Marie R. Barita, 89, died peacefully Saturday evening March 12, 2011 at Briarfield at the Ridge surrounded by love. She was born February 20, 1922 in Butler, a daughter of Alex and Mary Sawron Ostavitz and lived most of her life in Hubbard.

Mrs. Barita, a homemaker, was a member of St. Patrick Church and enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, crocheting, hosting elaborate parties and babysitting her wonderful grandchildren.

Her husband, Peter J. Barita, whom she married April 25, 1940, died November 3, 2007.

She leaves a son, Peter M. (Linda) Barita of Seabrook, TX; two daughters, Rose Mary (Jim) Capasso of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Dolores (Rickey) Cook of Hubbard; three brothers, Edward Ostavitz of Andover, Theodore Ostavitz of Youngstown and Eugene Ostavitz of Coitsville; five grandchildren, Peter Barita, Gabrielle Barita, Ted Capasso, Stefanie Cook and Richard Cook and two great grandchildren, Dominic and Zoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph Ostavitz and four sisters, Jean Surkalo, Helen Cordova and Nell Vigarino and Betty Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
