BONITA SPRINGS FL Lewis J. Haggerty, Jr., 77, formerly of Hubbard, went to be with his Lord and Savior whom he lived to serve, on Friday afternoon September 3, 2010 at Northside Hospital Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1933 in Hubbard, a son of Lewis J. and Ula L. Marshall Haggerty Sr. and has lived in Florida for 30 years.
Mr. Haggerty worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 35 years before retiring in 1980. Most recently he was manager for Mana Christian Mission in Bonita Springs, a trailer park for migrant workers. He attended the Liberty Lighthouse Church of God in Bonita Springs and was a friend of many church fellowships.
Lewis was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially his roses. His passion was being a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.
His first wife, the former Margaret M. Jones, whom he married July 28, 1952, died June 10, 1999.
He leaves his second wife, the former Verda Rinehart Netotea, whom he married February 16, 2001; two sons, Dennis (Darla) Haggerty of Copperapolis, CA and Terry (Pam) Haggerty of Hubbard; a daughter, Beverly (Bob) Reuff of Hubbard; two stepdaughters, Candy (Randy) Totman of McConnelsville, OH and Vicki (Tom) Walker of Warren; a sister, Louise Snowberger of Howland; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Donald and Douglas Haggerty.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM at the Friendship Baptist Church in Girard.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard and also on Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
