HUBBARD Leroy G. Franklin, Sr., 68, of Hubbard, died Tuesday afternoon, August 29, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born on January 4, 1938, in Hubbard, a son of John and Lola Burkey Franklin and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Franklin worked at General Fireproofing Corporation in Youngstown for 25 years. Leroy was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, the former Mary E. Edwards, whom he married on August 1, 1959; two sons, Leroy G. Franklin, Jr. of Hubbard and Frank L. (Joani) Franklin of McDonald; five brothers, Daniel Franklin of Newton Falls, Harry Franklin of Youngstown, Joseph Franklin of West Virginia, Clyde Franklin of Youngstown and Kenneth Franklin of Campbell; two sisters, Myrtle O'Connor of Youngstown and Margaret Marshall of Champion and four grandchildren.
His parents, a son, Raymond Franklin and two brothers, Melvin and John Franklin, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2006, at the Hubbard Union Cemetery Chapel.
There are no calling hours.
