HUBBARD Leroy E. "Roy" Davis, 84, of Hubbard, died Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008 at Hospice House. He was born on January 31, 1924, in Sharon, PA, a son of Spencer and Edith Mick Davis, having lived in Brookfield and coming to Hubbard in 1960.
Mr. Davis worked at the Sharon Steel Corporation for 33 years, retiring in 1975. He then worked for the Trumbull County Planning Commission from 1975 – 1988. Roy was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and the Sharon Steel Retirees. He was a 1942 graduate of Brookfield High School and served with the U. S. Navy during World War II from 1943 – 1945.
He leaves his wife, the former Rosemary "Lorraine" Escover, whom he married on September 30, 1944; three daughters, Cynthia (James) Pieton of McDonald; Cathleen Harbinak of Brecksville and Denise (John) Dugan of McDonald; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Pieton of Girard, Jason (Eleanor) Pieton of Chattanooga, TN, Adam Harbinak of Brecksville, Andrew Dugan, attending The Ohio State University, David Dugan attending Youngstown State University, Jerald Dugan of McDonald and Michelle (Jared) Shapiro of Lakewood and four great-grandchildren, Sofia Pieton of Chattanooga, TN, Alexis Pieton of Girard and twins, Benjamin and Jack Pieton, both of Chattanooga, TN.
His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 8:30 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
