VIENNA Lee H. Booty, 85, died Friday evening March 27, 2015 at Hospice House. He was born March 30, 1929 in Salem, OH a son of Harry W. and Ella L. Bennett Booty Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Booty started working at Sharon Steel while still in high school, graduating from Struthers High School in 1948. He then went on to serve with the United States Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the Army he became a boiler maker at Youngstown Sheet and Tube / LTV Steel for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. After retirement he worked in the maintenance department at General Fireproofing and did subcontracting work for McDonald Steel and Pennex Aluminum. Lee enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching boxing, football and NASCAR.
He leaves his wife, the former Emma Jean Heckert, whom he married April 13, 1957; a son, Kevin Booty; three daughters, Jeanette (Awni) Allamadani, Diane (John) Carano and Lisa (Dave) Francisco; four brothers, Robert (Delores) Booty, Charles Booty, Donald (Carol) Booty and David Booty and four grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Carpenter, Rahmi Allamadani and Ryan and Justin Francisco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Anna McLaughlin and two brothers, William Booty and Harry Booty Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home with Rev. Luke Oskin officiating.
Family and friends may call on Monday, two hours prior to the services from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
