GROVE CITY Lawrence "Jeep" Garono, 80, passed away Sunday evening December 3, 2023 at UPMC Shenango. He was born March 11, 1943 in Youngstown and was the son of Anthony and Eleanor A. Clacko Garono.
Jeep was a graduate of Hubbard High School and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Hubbard. He was the owner of Artistic Landscaping of Hubbard having learned to love and nurture plants and trees working from a young age with his father's company, Garono Landscaping.
He leaves his wife, Deborah Murdock Garono with whom he shared their beautiful home in the woods for many years. He leaves two sons: Anthony Garono and his wife Shonie of Hubbard, OH and Justin Brink of Grove City, PA. Also two daughters: Michele Garono-O'Brien (Tony Costa) of Masury, OH and Laurie Garono (Dave Olsavsky) of Canfield, OH. He leaves one brother William of Florida and 1 grandchildren: Jenna, John Lawrence, Lanie and Lauren O'Brien, Cole and Johnelle Crawford, Shawn, Anthony, Julia and Domonic Garono and Aisling Brink. There are many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and his Godson, Anthony Garono of Canfield, OH. A former wife Ruth Garono; the mother of their children Michele, Laurie and Anthony and grandmother to their grandchildren also remains.
Jeep was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Ralph, Tony and Henry Garono.
There are too many friends to name. He always felt blessed by those who loved and respected him. A lifelong loved and trusted friend, Tony Antoun has traveled the journey by his side for many years. Lanier (Eppy) Epperson was another special person in Jeep's life...they worked and designed many beautiful gardens and landscapes together. Amil Dinsio and Frank Budak are two other special companions that spent many happy hours with Jeep and gave him a lot of joy and laughter!
Private family memorial services were held.
Arrangements were handled by the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home.
