Obituary
WARREN Laura "Jean" Mauk, 90, died Sunday evening July 13, 2014 at Meridian Arms Nursing Home. She was born November 20, 1923 in Brookville, PA a daughter of Wayne and Ruby White Eshbaugh.
Mrs. Mauk was an assembly line worker at Sylvania Light Bulbs for 5 years During World War II. She was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard and also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jean loved to crochet, sew, bake and was an incredible cook, especially when it came to breads and pies, having won several awards for her pies. She loved to entertain family and friends, take pictures of her family, tending to her rose gardens and was always an optimistic and upbeat person.
Her husband, Parnell F. Mauk, whom she married October 15, 1947, died April 7, 2004.
She leaves two daughters, Leslie Kovalchik of Howland Twp. and Nancy (Jack) Zines of Hanoverton; a sister, Donna Kerr of Sarasota, FL; 4 grandchildren, Robert (Tracy) Kovalchik, Holly (Todd) Mackendrick, Amy Meeker and Jill (James Fetterman) Kovalchik and 5 great grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Mauk; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call on Thursday one hour prior to the services from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 48 Church St., Hubbard, OH 44425 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
