HUBBARD Laura B. Takash Harklerode, 82, died Sunday morning, April 24, 2011 at Northside Hospital Medical Center. She was born June 5, 1928 in Stringtown, PA, a daughter of Elmer and Phoebe Cunningham Kite.
Laura grew up in Mercer, PA and attended the Cape Horn School and graduated from Mercer High School. She worked at Howell Industries, where she was a Union President and had also worked at GATX. Laura was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church, where she was president of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Laura was a Hubbard High School Football Mom, active with many charities, an avid antique collector, a passionate bingo player and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her first husband, Elmer W. Takash, Sr., whom she married February 18, 1949, died March 7, 1987. Her second husband, Gene Harklerode, whom she married June 21, 1989, died December 5, 1997.
She is survived by son, Elmer Takash, Jr. and his wife Robin of Hubbard; daughter,
Deborah Plant and her husband Howard of Mercer; daughter, Barbara Neilson
and her husband Douglas of GlenAllen, VA; son, Matthew Takash; son, Mark Takash
and his wife Tammy; son, Luke Takash and his wife Jolene and son, John Takash all
of Hubbard; daughter, Lisa Seger and her husband James of Warren; a stepson, Carl Harklerode of Struthers; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Kite of Sharon; sister, Catherine Walton of Mundelein, Ill and a sister, Annetia Tobias of Fredonia, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Gail Takash, three brothers, Raymond, Lewis and Charles Kite and three sisters, Frances Pears, Vada Wilson and Delores Mock .
Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.
Family and friends may call on Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Cleveland, OH 44126.
Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
