HUBBARD Kenneth J. "Sonny" Stump, 72 of Hubbard, died Tuesday morning, April 13, 2004, at Sharon Regional Health System. He was born December 25, 1931, in Bernville, PA, a son of Allen and Viola Sterner Stump and has lived in Hubbard for 40 years.
Mr. Stump worked for Mahoning Real Seal for 20 years and then worked for Youngstown Building Materials for 5 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3767 of Hubbard, American Legion of Farrell, PA, and ITAM Post 4510 of Youngstown. He was an avid hunting and fishing enthusiast and served with the US Army 7th Infantry Division in Korea and Japan during the Korean War.
He leaves his wife, the former Helen "Flo" Gelbke, whom he married November 26, 1953; a son, Kenneth A. (Natalie) Stump of Melvindale, MI; two daughters, Roxanne (Ron) O'Bruba of Myrtle Beach, SC and Chellie (Silverio) Vitello of Commerce, MI; one brother, Harold (Janet) Stump of Canton, OH; two sisters, Janice (James) Davis of Berlin Center, OH and Violet (John) Schulte of Hubbard; four grandchildren, Rusty, Randy, Heather and Michelle; eight great grandchildren, Brett, Michael, Adriana, Joseph, Sarah, Stephen, Kelly and Bobby.
His parents and a brother, Allen Stump Jr. are deceased.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
