ORMOND BEACH, FL Kenneth E. Oyler, 82, formerly of Hubbard, passed away peacefully at his home in Ormond Beach, FL, Sunday morning, April 6, 2008, after a brief illness. He was born on August 28, 1925 in McKeesport, PA, the second son of Russell & Rebecca Zembower Oyler.

After graduating high school, he proudly served our country in the Air Force for 20 years active duty and 5 years in the Air Force Reserve. After retiring with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant in 1968, he settled in Hubbard, and worked for the U. S. Postal Service until 1987. He was a member of the Shriners Organization and a 32nd Degree Mason of Youghiogheny Lodge #583. Ken moved from Hubbard to Florida in 2004.

His wife of 39 years, the former Vivien L. Smelko, whom he married on July 28, 1956, died on November 25, 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Sue (Jim) Caro of Everett, PA, Darlene (Dennis) Morain of Vienna, a son, Ken P. (Janene) Oyler of Girard; a sister, Doris Kelly of White Oak, PA., a brother, Len Oyler of Port Orange, FL; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Ken will be sadly missed by his companion of 11 years, Helen Zambrello, and all of her family members. Helen, formerly of Connecticut, resided with Ken and they enjoyed traveling and spending the remaining years of Ken's life together. Ken will be painfully missed by his family and friends

Besides his wife, preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Joe Oyler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
