HUBBARD Joseph Richard Rock, 82, died Wednesday evening October 19, 2011 at his daughter's home in Columbus. He was born June 26, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph J. and Eleanor Macko Rock and had lived in Hubbard for 23 years coming from the Youngstown Poland area.
Mr. Rock was a conductor for Republic / LTV Steel for 40 years before retiring in 1985. Joseph was a member of St. Patrick Church. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and served with the United States Army during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam War.
Joseph attended Action Physical Therapy's Silver Sneakers Program and had many friends there. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was very active with his family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 25 years, the former Ruth Wilson, whom he married June 7, 1986; three daughters, Denise (Ken) MacMillan of Columbus, Diane (Steve) Morris of Medina and Debi Dewees of Florida; a stepson, Richard Santell of West Middlesex and two stepdaughters, Richelle (Keith) Ricciardi of Hermitage and Roxanne Santell of Hubbard; a brother, Robert N. (Dorothy) Rock of Poland; brother-in-law, Leonard (Dolly) Murdock of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Abbott of Sharon; grandchildren, Meghan and Kenney MacMillan, Jessica Phibbs, Tera Williamson, Keith (Devon) Ricciardi, Karly and Ricky Santell, Alex Santell, Gina Tucker, Jacklyn (Larry) Iagulli and Dawn and Donnie Dewees; great grandchildren, Dominic and Sophia Ricciardi, Christina, Scotty and Zachary Tucker and Deloena and Mark Iagulli
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, the former Delphia M. Murdock who died in 1984 and an infant daughter Lori.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.
Family and friends may call on Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
