HUBBARD Mr. Joseph P. Policy, 89, of Hubbard, died Tuesday evening at his home. He was born November 28, 1911 in Hubbard, a son of Joseph and Mary Rossi Policy and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Policy was a millwright for Powell Pressed Steel Company for 36 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, where he served as a reader for many years and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was a member of the former Owls Club and enjoyed traveling. He served as a Sergeant with the United States Army during World War II, fighting in battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardenes and Central Europe. He received the Bronze Star Medal, the American Theatre Service Medal and the European Theatre Service Medal with five Bronze Stars.
He leaves his wife, the former Irene Turchan, whom he married November 27, 1947; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Patricia K. Policy of Hubbard; a sister, Florence Heberle of Davisburg, MI and two grandchildren. A son, Henry Policy, five brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 9:30 AM at St. Patrick Church.
