HUBBARD Joseph A. Blazak, Sr., 72, of Hubbard, died Tuesday evening, December 27, 2005 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and Anna Derfiny Blazak and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Blazak worked for General Motors Corp. in Lordstown for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was a U. S. Army veteran, a member of VFW Post No. 3767 in Hubbard, a former officeholder for the UAW Local 1112 and a supporter of local 4 H organizations. Joe raced stockcars throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York for 30 years. He was of the Catholic faith.
His wife, the former Harriet M. Edwards, whom he married in 1959, died on April 21, 2003.
He leaves a son, Joseph A. (Tammy) Blazak, Jr. of Austintown; a daughter, Tammy Lynn (Rick) Wells of Hubbard; three brothers, William Blazak of Ft. Pierce, FL, Edward Blazak and Thomas Blazak, both of Punta Gorda, FL and five grandchildren, Ashley, who lived with her grandfather, Kylie and Courtney Wells and Rachael and Adam Blazak.
Besides his wife, his parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
