HUBBARD John "Jay" Joseph Wlodarski, 52, died peacefully early Saturday morning July 19, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness. Jay was born May 27, 1962 to John Z. and Jean A. (George) Wlodarski in St. Petersburg, FL.
He loved spending time with his wife of 26 years, Cheryl (Nord) of Hubbard; his son, Jonathan; parents and extended family. Jay was a member of St. Patrick Parish of Hubbard where he served on the Pastoral Parish Council.
Jay was an active member of the Brookfield Rotary Club where he formerly served as club president and chairman of the Foreign Exchange Student Program; he was also named a Paul Harris Fellow. Jay was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, a golfer, baker, gardener and home and furniture renovator. He was inducted into the Brookfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1978 State Championship Football Team. He also coached youth football in Brookfield for a number of years.
He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1980; Youngstown State University with his Bachelor's degree in 1987 and his MBA in 2003. Jay worked at First Place Bank of Warren and Wells Fargo of Howland in banking and mortgage lending, where he made many friends on both sides of the teller counter. He enjoyed getting to know his co-workers and customers.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; son Jonathan; parents, John and Jean Wlodarski of Brookfield; sisters, Julie (Tim) DeMay of Fowler, Janice (Phil) Cassidy of Madison, OH, Jennifer (Brian) Wallace of Sharpsville, PA, Joy Squibbs of Hubbard and Jody Ackerman of Dublin, OH; mother-in-law, Barbara Nord of Hubbard; brothers-in-law, Charles (Judith) Nord of North Royalton, OH, Robert (Peg) Nord of Stow, Richard (Mary) Nord of Hubbard and Ronald (Kellie) Nord of Hubbard. Uncle Jay Bird will be greatly missed by his 20 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Patrick Church.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family so they can make a donation to St. Patrick Church or to a heart research program.
