LIBERTY John J. Sudon, 87, died Thursday evening August 7, 2014 at his home. He was born September 28, 1926 in Detroit, MI, a son of John and Katherine Holecko Sudon and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Sudon was an insurance agent for Metropolitan Insurance for 32 years. He served with the United States Army as a paratrooper during World War II. John was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, the Hubbard Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3767 and the Army & Navy Garrison No. 360 in Youngstown. He was an avid golfer, bowler, fisherman and hunter.
His wife, the former Ann Toda, whom he married January 21, 1948, died January 25, 1991.
John leaves 5 sons, John (Robin) Sudon of Canfield, Richard (Marlene) Sudon of Hartford, Donald (Judy) Sudon of Lowellville, Joseph (Frances) Sudon of Vienna and Robert Sudon of Youngstown; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral services from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in the form of a donation to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
