HUBBARD John M. Rusbacky, Sr., 97, died Wednesday evening June 1, 2011 at O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home. He was born November 11, 1913 in Youngstown, a son of Michael S. and Anna Ferenchak Rusbacky and moved to Hubbard in 1940 coming from Youngstown.
John was a crane operator for the William B. Pollock Co. (GATX) for over 41 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, an original member of the Holy Name Society, the Disciples of Mary and helped with festival clean up. John enjoyed woodworking, reading and bowled on many different leagues.
His wife, the former Helen C. Knapik, whom he married September 14, 1940, died December 13, 2001.
He leaves three sons, John M. (Sue) Rusbacky, Jr. of Masury, Michael S. (Nancy) Rusbacky of St. Peters, MO and Robert J. (Alicia) Rusbacky of Fairfield, OH; two daughters, Anne (George) Schur of Hubbard and Mary Ellen (John) Korecki of Massillon; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Steve, Joe and George Rusbacky and a sister, Mary Razum.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.
Family and friends may call on Sunday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick School, 38 E. Water St., Hubbard, OH 44425.
Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
