HUBBARD Funeral services will be held Monday, 10:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church for John T. Ramos, 78 of 730 Gary Drive, who died Thursday morning at Northside Medical Center. He was born November 12, 1922, in Silao, Mexico, the son of Thomas and Josephine Torres Ramos and came to the United States at the age of three months and moved to Hubbard in 1970, coming from Youngstown.
Mr. Ramos, also known as Chico or Poncho, worked for the former Valley Mold & Iron Corp. for 36 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hubbard Post 3767 and served with the Army in World War II. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and playing tennis.
He leaves his wife, the former Rose Alice Emanuel, whom he married March 2, 1946; a daughter, Joanne Rose Chavez of Campbell; a brother, Thomas Ramos of Struthers; three grandchildren. Three brothers, Frank, Fred and Lupe Ramos and three sisters, Elizabeth Avila, Rose Avila and Mary Guteriz are deceased.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Monday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
Burial will be in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
