HUBBARD John J. Pustay, Jr., 72, of Hubbard, died Sunday morning, August 7, 2005, at his daughter's residence in Lake Milton. He was born on April 4, 1933, in Budapest, Hungary, a son of Janos and Zsuzsanna Majoros Pusztai, coming to the area in 1956 and to Hubbard in 1982.
Mr. Pustay worked for William B. Pollock Company for 27 years and was formerly employed by the Louisiann-Pacific Extrusion Company in Boardman. He served in the Hungarian military, Hungarian police force and came to the United States in 1956, becoming an American citizen in 1957. John enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and was of the Jehovah Witness faith.
He leaves two sons, John J. (Dianne) Pustay, III of Hubbard and David D. (Pamela) Pustay of Weathersfield; a daughter, Bernadette Lilah (Chris) Edwards of Lake Milton; a brother, Tibor Pusztai of Brunswick, OH; four sisters, Pearl Sandor of Brunswick, OH, Judith Shranko-Nagy of Garrettsville, OH, Susan Waselich of North Benton, OH and Erika Pusztai of Orlando, FL and 6 grandchildren.
His parents, brothers, Peter and Bela Pusztai and sister, Erszebeth Pusztai preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
