BROOKFIELD John P. Mastronardi, 87, of Brookfield, died Monday morning at Northside Hospital Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1921 in Masury, a son of Benito and Mary Perrotta Mastronardi and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Mastronardi worked for Goldstein's Furniture for 43 years before retiring in 1985 as store manager. He was a member of St. Bernadette Church where he served as an usher. John was a graduate of Brookfield High School, served with the United States Army during WW II, and was a member of the Brookfield Optimist Club. He was an avid golfer, Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
His first wife, the former Katherine "Cassie" Planny, whom he married June 28, 1953, died November 27, 1984. He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy Kline Janusko, whom he married August 5, 1995; a son, Philip J. Mastronardi of Brookfield; a daughter, Mary Kay Jablonski of Hubbard; two grandsons, Adam and Jeff Jablonski of Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Margaret Blair and Ann Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and a Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Bernadette Church.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
