John Luteran's Obituary


HUBBARD John J. Luteran, 91, died Sunday morning, April 17, 2011 at Hospice House. He was born July 29, 1919 in Hubbard, a son of Stephen and Theresa Volk Luteran and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mr. Luteran was a fitter for tests on transformers at Westinghouse for 38 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Knights of Columbus. John served with the United States Army serving as Squad Leader, receiving the EAME Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, the American Campaign Medal and the Purple Heart.

John enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and going to casinos.

He leaves his wife, the former, Mary E. "Lil" Luteran, whom he married May 29, 1952; a daughter, Francine (Chuck) Heath of Hubbard; a brother, Joseph Luteran of Erie and a grandson, Billy Heath.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John J. Luteran, Jr; two brothers, Steve and Mike Luteran and two sisters, Theresa Kapusta and Ann Luteran.





Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514 or to the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge, 11432 Mayfield Road, Cleveland, OH 44106-2364.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
