PITTSBURGH John F.. Lam, Jr., 89, died Wednesday morning at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. He was born May 26, 1919 in Pittsburgh, a son of John F. and Marie Aschman Lam, Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Lam retired as an engineer for Western Electric. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pittsburgh and served with the United States Army during World War II. John was an avid skier and tennis player, he loved the beach, especially Cape May, NJ and loved flying. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Ski Club.
He leaves two daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Gasser of Hubbard and Cynthia Lam and her husband Barry Welch of Sherborn, MA; a sister, Josephine Hoeftman-Haigh of Wilmington, DE; five granddaughters, Alison, Taylor and Marquette Gasser and Emily and Caroline Welch.
Private funeral services will be held.
