NEW BEDFORD, PA John Gleason, 88, of New Bedford, PA, died Friday afternoon, July 29, 2005, at his residence. He was born December 25, 1916, in Youngstown, a son of Philip and Liddey Von Arnold Gleason and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Gleason was a motor inspector for Republic Steel Corp. in Campbell for over 40 years, retiring in 1979. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. and served with the Eighth Air Force Fighter Squadron during World War II. John enjoyed gardening and landscaping.

His wife, the former Louise Pinky, died June 24, 1978.

He leaves a brother, William Gleason of Los Angeles, CA.

Besides his wife, his parents, a brother, Philip Gleason and a sister, Gertrude, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday one-hour prior to the service.
