Obituary


HUBBARD John Farcas, 81 of Hubbard, died Saturday morning, October 14, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 3, 1925, in Youngstown, a son of John and Anna Lupse Farcas and was a life long Hubbard resident.

Mr. Farcas was a commercial photographer who owned and operated Photo Graphics for over 40 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, Youngstown, where he had served many different terms as council president and was currently serving on the 100th Anniversary Committee. John was a member of the Hubbard Kiwanis Club where he was a past president and was a past district Lt. Governor of Kiwanis.

John had a passion for photography and enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was a 1954 graduate of Ohio University and served with the Navy in World War II.

He leaves his wife, the former Eileen A. Faber, whom he married May 8, 1948; a son, Ronald J. (Maribeth) Farcas of Hubbard; a daughter, Barbara (Larry) Slipski of Canfield; one brother, Raymond Farcas of Hubbard; four sisters, Ann Sheets of Boardman, Eugenia McConnell of Hermitage, PA, Elizabeth Shank of Charlotte, NC and Eleanor Bross of Hubbard; four grandchildren, Kevin (Kim) Slipski, Kelly Slipski, Chelsea Farcas and Cory Farcas; two great grandchildren Hunter and Adrienne Slipski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Farcas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, Youngstown.

Family and friends may call Monday, 5 to 8 pm at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm.
