Obituary


HUBBARD John "Tubby" P. Cook 79, of Hubbard, died Saturday morning, February 7, 2004, at his home. He was born March 24, 1924, in Hubbard, a son of Joseph and Lucy Rosile Cook and was a life long Hubbard resident.

Mr. Cook worked for Gennaro Pavers for 43 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Francis J. Hughes Council 2072. He was a member of the Optimist Club, Marconi Club, Hubbard Grid Iron Club and Past President of the former Owls Club. He also coached Little League baseball and Midget League football in Hubbard. Mr. Cook was a 1949 graduate of Westminster College and served with the Navy during the invasion of Normandy in World War II.

He leaves his wife, the former Eva E. Yarabenetz, whom he married July 15, 1950; a son, Frank J. (Charlene) Cook of Hubbard; one daughter, Eva Marie (John) Moore of Hartford; a brother, Joseph Cook of Hubbard; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His parents, a sister, Joanne Tucciarone and a brother, James Cook are deceased.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 5 to 8 PM.
