HUBBARD A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Swierz officiating for John "Jack" Bednar, 81, who died Thursday afternoon September 3, 2015 at Sharon Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 22, 1934 in Youngstown, son of John M. and Ann Margala Bednar and was a lifelong area resident, having moved to Hubbard in July of 1959.

Mr. Bednar was a graduate of East High School and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He was a machine setup man for Campbell Works and Sheet and Tube for 32 years, retiring in 1985. Jack was a member of the Hubbard Senior Citizens and he enjoyed golfing and going to casinos.

His wife, the former Catherine R. Bartos, whom he married May 5, 1956, died October 13, 2007.

He leaves three sons, Kenneth (Vicki) Bednar, Michael Bednar and John Bednar all of Hubbard; two daughters, Marita Miklos of Hubbard and Jacquelyn (Greg) Zembrodt of Covington, KY; a sister, Barbara (Norman) Parise of Struthers; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Jared, Susan and her husband Brian, Ron, Dominic and Laura; one great granddaughter, Kayla; and his dear friend, Maryann Ferguson of Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and a brother, Robert "Bo" Bednar.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, two hours prior to the Mass from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
