HUBBARD Joanne M. Merrell, 82, died on Tuesday morning March 24, 2015 at Liberty Health Care. She was born September 21, 1932 in Frostburg, PA a daughter of Clinton H. and Alma M. Allenbaugh Shaffer and has lived in Hubbard since 1954.

Joanne attended Clarion College and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hubbard Football Mom's and enjoyed bowling.

Her husband David W. Merrell Sr, whom she married November 6, 1954, died January 30, 2013.

She leaves two sons, David W. (Phyllis) Merrell Jr. of Aurora CO and Kenneth W. Merrell of Hubbard; a brother, Richard E. Shaffer of Punxsutawney PA; one sister, Eileen S. Miller of Ottawa OH, and seven grandchildren.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Steven M. Merrell and two brothers, Robert C. and Mervin Q. Shaffer.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday one hour prior to the services from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
