HUBBARD Jeffrey Layne Whitaker, 55, of Hubbard, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at his residence. He was born on November 18, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of Roy and Marjorie McKibbin Whitaker and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Whitaker was the manager of Stoneybrooke Village in Hubbard for 17 years and was formerly with the Hubbard Township Police Department from 1978 – 1993. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. Jeff loved his children and being with them.

He leaves a son, David R. (Cynthia) Whitaker of Roanoke, VA; a daughter, Shannon L. Whitaker of Hubbard; a brother, James J. Whitaker of Hubbard; a sister, Carleen D. (Daniel) Dutton of Hartford and three grandchildren, Connor Whitaker, Jestina Kaczmark and Carmela Kaczmark.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:15 p.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

Family and friends may call on Friday from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the services.
