Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home for Jeanne A. Bruce, 84, who died Tuesday morning October 11, 2011 at her home. She was born May 15, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of James and Florence Howe Docherty and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Bruce was a meat wrapper for various supermarkets in the Youngstown Warren area including Loblaws and Fazios for 40 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and was a 1946 graduate of Ursuline High School. Jeanne enjoyed painting on canvas in oil and charcoal and also held ceramics classes. Her family was her life and she helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren after retiring.
Her husband, Jerry R. Bruce, whom she married June 14, 1947, died November 16, 1993.
She leaves a son, John R. (Debra) Bruce of Hubbard; two daughters, Jamie (Raymond) Long and Jerry Lynn (Lawrence) Wilson both of Hubbard; a brother, William Docherty of Canfield; five grandchildren, Jeannine (Timothy) Ryhal, Ms. Rae Lynn (James Falba) Long, Ms. Kayla M. Wilson, Ms. Annie E. Bruce and Ms. Brandie Falba; four great grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Mifsud, Ms. Brittany N. Prem, Ms. Chloe A. Ryhal and Master Quinn R. O'Dea and a great great grandson, Master Christian A. Mifsud and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James and John Docherty.
Family and friends may call on Friday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
